Help With Equitation Boot Brand/price?
Posted on September 5th, 2009 2 commentsOk, i recently purchased front Equitation boots at a consignment tack shop. The buttons say Pariani, and have this horse head logo in the middle. The sheepskin is removable, and the buttons/leather seems really nice. (nicer than the Amergio’s i compared them to).
I paid $80 for them.
Was that a good deal, or was i ripped off?
And also, can someone tell me retail price for them, and a bit about the brand? -
Hiking Boot Hot Spots?
Posted on September 5th, 2009 3 commentsI had my boots professionally fitted. Of course, you have to fit to the larger foot, the left. So my right boot is just large enough to have some slop in the heel (buying a second pair of 1/2 size boots won’t work, then the right is too small). Doesn’t matter what I do for padding or socks–that heel slips and I get a hot spot. The boots are broken in (by a few hundred miles of trek hiking the Rockies) and I wear 2 pairs of socks: heavy, wool trekkers and a wicking layer. I’ve tried sheepskin padding, different types of socks, and different tying techniques to keep the heel down but it doesn’t help. Any suggestions? Can I pad up in a different way? Or do I live with rolls of moleskin and “Second Skin” forever? I am an experienced, long-distant hiker so please write your answers with that in mind.

Ugg Boot Alternative For Men?
Posted on August 26th, 2009 4 commentsI bought some like a long time ago and I thought they were…cool I guess? but despite how comfortable (but ugly) they are I need something with more foot support to walk in and probably something less low key. This is probably one of the harshest winters I’ve been exposed to on the, east coast temperature wise, so I would really like a pair of sheep skin boots that won’t have people giving me awkward looks and are comfortable to walk in.
I have already seen/tried Sorel bota bag in fact my dad has them, but they’re like clown shoes! hahahahttp://www.sorel.com/Product.aspx?top=1&cat=120&prod=117
Also I have some below averaged sized feet so I’m not looking for anything heavy duty looking (mainly because I can never fit into them hahahaha)
Finally,
if you’re just gonna tell me uggboots are for girls or shouldn’t be worn at all, if you look at my title post it says I’m looking for an ALTERNATIVE, so in a sense I agree with you. Just don’t be a jerk please and help a short kid who wants some cool sheepskin boots out
